Experience
February 2014 - Current - Keyhouse Computing - Software Engineer
- Providing customer support for both legal case management and bookkeeping software for solicitors firms and collection agencies
- Writing programs to migrate and merge data from multiple MSSQL databases into one
- Writing software to migrate database from Azure SQL Databases
- Writing and maintaining the flagship software, fixing bugs, adding new, and expanding existing features per client request
- Creating utility apps and extensions to improve the ticketing software for the support team
- Languages used include mostly VB .NET, and MSSQL (T-SQL), and Clarion but also include batch file, power shell scripts, jQuery (Javascript)
- Creating template reports using Crystal Reports, PowerBI reports, and Excel
- Use of JIRA and eventually Azure DevOps to log development tickets, and git to distribute the software
- Worked on many projects with clients to implement features like automating sending SMS notifications, importing data from banks to help collect debt, implementing a procedure to allow firms to purge personal data as per GDPR regulations
